If you haven't caught this on TV yet I highly recommend it. Andrew Marr is a great story teller. The first two episodes are on BBC iPlayer.

I disagree. I 've learned little. His subject is too large, and his emphatic style irritates. A face for radio, perhaps?

I like his style. His passion and enjoyment is obvious and that makes the storytelling all the more exciting. And I wouldn't say his subject is too large... he illuminates facets of history that are usually overshadowed by other greater events; putting them in a single frame when they're usually presented separately. It's a tricky thing to do without causing befuddlement, but he ties it in well and manages to keep the focus. Quite refreshing actually.

You deserve a raspberry.

"thhppppppppp!" (Harry and Spike would be proud of that one)
