the useless waste of young lives
for what..a far away War
so much blood so little gain
and many mothers weep..

I burned my card
Stood tall against tyranny
My countries betrayal of me
and my family
I objected to the unjust

Sent secret service agent bullies
to all my friends doors
Threatening
Called me names
But I refused (and always will) to kill

The War is now over
Our country neither won nor lost
The terrible cost..who will accept responsibility?
Sad young lives ..never to return
Strange illness called post War syndrome

Years have passed
Veterans were forgotten
The government was in denial
They wanted to forget
The sacrifice of its sons...

But I and my children will not..
For theres rumors of new wars
and new conflicts of interest
Corporate battles on foreign shores
Its just the same old... same old
