Dislike. I never found them funny

Maryd.
10-02-2010, 04:33 AM
Well I find the acrobatics of trapeze and high wire extraordinary, but against any ill treatment towards any animals concerned.

Long walks on the beach at night?

Henry P

Maryd.
10-02-2010, 12:07 PM

No, dear have an issue, when I am awake, I am awake. I cannot sleep. So no.

Have you ever ever met someone famous?

Henry P
15-02-2010, 12:19 PM
And I thought all Aussies were surfers.
I don't think she appreciated me reading poems to her, anyway. She is very practical- if it butters no bread, it's a waste of time.
Never really met anyone very famous, except Willis Hall, a dramatist who wrote the WW2 play and film The Long and the Short and the Tall and a well-known Yorkshire poet, more comedian Ian Macmillan and media face, lovely man, instant mate. Have you?

Maryd.
15-02-2010, 12:24 PM
(I know I always get told off by everyone I speak to abou the swimming. All Aussies should know how to swim - they say.)
Sadly I have never met anyone famous.

Lying in the sun?

Maryd.
15-02-2010, 12:49 PM
No, no, slip, slop, slap here. Slip on sunscreen, Slop on a shirt and slap on a hat. The UV ray in Aus, is pretty high and skin cancer is a serious issue here. So here we either cover up or stay indoors. The people who cook themselves in the sun, are crazy.

Henry P

Table tennis?

Henry P
15-02-2010, 01:05 PM
I think basketball is too easy for the 2 metre giants on that small court- scores of 100 are clocked up. Midgets on a football pitch would be something
Liked to play table tennis, but not watch it on TV- those shoes squeaking get on my wick

Henry P
18-02-2010, 12:47 AM

Maryd.
18-02-2010, 03:25 AM
A feature wall is when all walls of the room is painted one colour, let's say um... White and one wall is painted another colour, let's say red. Then you deocrate that wall, with plant pots, shelving, picture frames and dust collectors... Oops I meant ornaments.

Henry P
18-02-2010, 09:33 AM

Not sure exactly what they are called. I just passed an outdoor garden centre one day, 5 years ago. I bought two of them (each costing $35.00 down from $65.00) - ouch. My problem was I lost the little tab telling me their names and I went back to the place and they have a different type now, that I dislike, so I just cut the stems and regrow them in different pots. Ond day I will fill up the garden with thornless roses. Can't wait.

grocery shopping

Maryd.
20-02-2010, 12:28 PM

Mrs Palin is a pretty woman, but too ignorant to be elected

People who talk loud.

Jermac
21-02-2010, 04:20 PM
Oh man, people who talk loud just grate on me. I tend to physically move away from them.

Someone made the statement that Sarah Palin was too dumb to be elected. I disagree totally. On the contrary, Sarah Palin is intelligent. The stories of her dumbness were made-up by people opposed to her. For example, she never said that Africa was a country, and she never said that she could see Russia from her front yard. (Actually, you can see Russia from Alaska.) The point is, that stories have been made up abut Sarah Palin to try to show that she is dumb. You want to talk about dumb: Look at Joe Biden, who just happens to be Vice-President. So I'll put Biden up as a subject of like, dislike, etc.

Joe Biden

Henry P
21-02-2010, 04:32 PM
don't know much about the vice prez here in the UK. He looks all right, took his big chance after years of trying himself. Didn't he steal lines from a speech by the Welsh windbag Lord Kinnock, erstwhile leader of the Labour Party once?

What about Hillary Clinton

Henry P
22-02-2010, 09:47 AM
dislike Mrs Clinton, who lied about being shot at on arriving in Bosnia, while TV evidence exists to the contrary. It says something when the US opeople prefered a black man to a white woman like her
Bill Clinton?

Jermac
22-02-2010, 02:18 PM
Oh lord, don't get me started on him. I have to say that Bill Clinton is one of the most intelligent presidents we've ever had. But he is also the most immoral and hypocritical presidents we've ever had. He is or was more of a liar than Richard Nixon. He cannot by any means be considered a great president, but he is not the worst. I have absolutely no respect for him.

This is a touchy subject and maybe I shouldn't bring it up, but what about abortion.

Henry P
22-02-2010, 02:28 PM
Clinton has charm and brains but achieved little.
I don't agree with abortion unless it's rape, incest or the mother's life is in danger
