08-06-2009, 05:23 PM
What a silly old bugger Macca to fall for her. At least the divorce proceedings and share-out were entertaining.

Hate the Apprentice, but Lord Sugar is quite down-to-earth, so like

I blush to admit that I used to watch Big brother, but no longer. I now despise the media whores and weirdos assembled for our scrutiny.

I had to Google LMAO, then realised you're being a little naughty. i love poems.

HD TV?

Henry P
10-06-2009, 09:51 AM
I like HD Tv, although I haven't got it yet. A pity the programmes are so crap when the technology is so good.

Digital radio?

Poetical
10-06-2009, 04:56 PM
I prefer transistor radio, but if digital is all there is well who can do without music and the news.

Afternoon naps?

rantingpete
10-06-2009, 06:01 PM
I have noticed since I turned 40 I do like an afternoon nap now and again but it makes me feel like shit after.

Fern Britain?

Henry P
10-06-2009, 06:18 PM
I have a nap now and again, but like you, wake feeling shit afterwards.

Nothing to like or despise about Fern, but people like her make you wonder why and how they earn so much by doing something so bland.

Daytime TV?

rantingpete
10-06-2009, 07:15 PM
I hate daytime tv but i get dragged in cos my girlfriend is a bloody addict. I don't mind quiz shows like Wordplay but I end up watching Dickinson's Real Deal, Bargain Hunt, Cash in the Attic, Jeremy Kyle, To buy or not to buy, Homes under the hammer, the list goes on. In fact, this reply has inspired me to write about it.

Pete Doherty?

Henry P
10-06-2009, 09:16 PM
Daytime, and much evening TV is shit.

I'm tired of Doherty's antics. I bet the newspaper obituaries are ready. He should get off with Amy Winehouse and let us be bored by someone else. (one or two good tunes, though)

Amy Winehouse?

BattyOldMaid
11-06-2009, 09:25 AM
She's more famous for being drug addled, I don't like how if you're skin and bones, or druggie or a sex predator, you get more exposure, while talented people are not given time of day. Same reason why I'm pissed off with footballers earning millions for kicking a ball around, and nurses, fire fighters and those who can make a difference earn pittance.

Okay okay, I heard you all first time, I'm off my soapbox! haha

bank charges?

Henry P
11-06-2009, 08:37 PM
Winehouse has a few good songs, but I'm sick of hearing about her, and of seeing her ugly mug in the media.

Bank charges are evil.

Juno is good, well-acted, but I've not seen Withnail and I.

The film Moulin Rouge?

Poetical

Well you should check it out Pete, quirky and funny, I loved Withnail and I and the film Moulin Rouge.

The movie with whats her face in it, madam Knightly, or book by Ian Mc Ewan, Atonement?

Henry P
11-06-2009, 09:08 PM
I love Moulin Rouge and Luhrman's Romeo and Juliet.

Atonement is a subtle, poetic, difficult book and the film is a good stab at reproducing the story. Try his On Chesil Beach- no other book captures the nuances of first forays into sex as accurately .

Keira Knightley?

Poetical
11-06-2009, 09:28 PM
I like her body but I don't think I would actually like her, she seems to me like a bit to much of a stuck up snob to me.

yeah I just finnished that book and loved it, I haven't read any of his other books but will look out for them, first off Chesil beach

Jonny Depp?

Henry P
11-06-2009, 09:31 PM
A pretty girl with lovely eyes, although she could do with a square meal now and again. I'm no sure that she's a good actress yet, but she manages to get into top films.

I like Johnny Depp's style and youthful looks, although my wife thinks he looks like a girl. Not totally convinced that he's a great actor, though

The pirates of the Caribbean films?

Poetical
12-06-2009, 12:16 AM
Nothing Spectacular, but good to watch for the entertainment value. I feel the same way about Mr Depp, though I like him as an actor definitely picks the weird and quirky films, matches his acting abilities

Leonardo diCaprio?

Henry P
12-06-2009, 12:17 AM
The first Pirates film is good entertainment.
Like Leo- a good actor, but he may never lose that baby face,

Cameron Diaz?

Poetical
12-06-2009, 12:19 AM
She is an ok actress, nothing special in my book, I also think Leo is a very good actor

Brendan Gleeson?

Henry P
12-06-2009, 12:22 AM
Miss Diaz is a decent actress, and ugly/pretty .

I like Brendan Gleeson

Colin Farrell?

Poetical
12-06-2009, 12:27 AM
Head is up his whole, he tries to hard, and even though he is from my home town, I don't rate him at all. I love brendan Gleeson as an actor, he plays Winston Churchhill in a movie I seen on HBO the other night, can't remember the name of it but it was a good watch.

The Band Blur?

Henry P
12-06-2009, 12:31 AM
I like Colin Farrell- a good actor and real character.

I like Blur too.

Tom Cruise?

Poetical
12-06-2009, 12:37 AM
Not a big Tom Cruise fan, I think he is a bit touched and his head is also too big

Tom Hanks?

Henry P
12-06-2009, 12:41 AM
He is a bit touched with the scientology crap, but he's usually in pretty good films. He likes his fans- my sister-in-law saw him on a london street and he let her take pictures of him with her mobile.

I like Tom Hanks, but the last two spooky religious films are crap

Catherine zeta Jones?

BattyOldMaid
16-06-2009, 09:29 AM
None of her films appeal, didn't rate her that all well in Darling Buds of May either. I don't think she is a good actress, as for that Oscar, bullshit!

Martin Sheen

Henry P
16-06-2009, 08:38 PM
Zeta is pretty but hard-faced.

I like Martin Sheen- good actor and apparently a decent man

Charlie Sheen?

BattyOldMaid
18-06-2009, 06:42 PM
he can be a decent actor too if he puts his worth in, I loved the fact he stood up and said there was something suspicious surrounding the whole 9/11.

Jennifer Anisten

Henry P
18-06-2009, 07:35 PM
Charlie is a decent comedy actor, otherwise a tosser vis a vis women and drugs (and 9/11)

I like Jennifer Aniston- good actress- a pity she can't sort her love life out.

Pete Andre?

rantingpete
18-06-2009, 11:33 PM
I'm probably the only man on the planet who quite likes him (not in that way!). I hate his wife with a passion. I find him to be a good dad, just a nice guy. Too nice sometimes to the point of twatness but I think he's quite funny.

Katie Price/Jordan?

Henry P
18-06-2009, 11:44 PM
I agree agree - Peter andre looks like a nice lad (if rather thick to take her on)
But I hate the ugly artificial slag he married. She planned to give birth to Dwight Yorke 's kid on the internet, but had to have a C section after Gareth Gates knocked its eye out. (She got her revenge by saying he had a little d**k, though) There's also a video of her on the internet giving an unknown guy a seeing-to. Hate the bitch!
Lisa Marie Presley?

rantingpete
19-06-2009, 02:38 AM
the only thing i know about her is her dad's elvis and she married michael jackson, if that don't fuck you up, nothing will. oh, i like advertising space by robbie williams which is about her.

Kerry Katona?

Henry P
19-06-2009, 10:11 AM
I dislike Lisa Marie for selling the rights to her dad's songs, and Kerry Katona for those awful iceland adverts.

Robbie Williams?

BattyOldMaid
19-06-2009, 07:19 PM
I like Robbie back when he was on take that, I think the solo venture messed him up really bad, so hopefully he is back on track and will make decent music again.

I do like peter Andre as well, it's a shame he thought she was the best around when he married her.

Barbara Winsdor?

Henry P
19-06-2009, 09:28 PM

Noel Edmonds?

rantingpete
23-06-2009, 01:26 AM
I loved Noel as a kid on Swap Shop but all this 'positive mental energy' he talks about on Deal or No deal is annoying. It's 22 poxy boxes being opened up one by one. Simple as that. I loved Gotcha Oscar though!

Wonderwall by Oasis?

Henry P
23-06-2009, 10:31 AM
Like most Oasis songs

Deal or No Deal?

Poetical

Andy Murray?

Poetical

Watching Tennis?

Henry P
03-07-2009, 09:18 PM
I used to like tennis, but not any longer. It seems a limited game compared to football or cricket. The commentators are posh dimwits except John McEnroe. I don't like the grimacing Andy Murray either.

Rugby union?

BattyOldMaid
19-07-2009, 11:22 AM
errr, Wales vs South Africa is Rugby Union or is that local clubs?

I think local clubs are more gritty and play better than the other.

So have I said like or dislike Rugby Union??

Vicar of Dibley

Henry P
19-07-2009, 06:39 PM
I like rugby union, although not even the players understand all the rules- too many penalties and too much kicking.
I never found the Vicar of Dibley funny, nor French or Saunders.
