Mopping floors?

Maryd.
25-06-2010, 05:18 PM
Love, 'tis good for the hips...

Sorry always thinking about an exercise and/or activity that will help shape the body.

Henry P
25-06-2010, 05:20 PM
That's OK. We have to learn to move more

Maryd.
25-06-2010, 05:30 PM
Yes, well mopping is the best form of housework to help lose weight.

Henry P
25-06-2010, 05:34 PM
really?

Maryd.
25-06-2010, 05:41 PM
Yes. I have been doin my homework and it is the only housework that has given me a workout.... Perspiring and working the hips from side to side and up and down... Very effective.

Henry P
25-06-2010, 05:45 PM
I'll have to mop more often

Maryd.
25-06-2010, 05:51 PM
Yes. Try it, you will feel your hips sore afterwards. That means they are working overtime to keep up.

Henry P
25-06-2010, 07:18 PM
I will

Maryd.
26-06-2010, 01:01 AM

Showers.

Maryd.
26-06-2010, 04:13 PM
Love a shower... We have pretty severe water restrictions here in Melbourne, Oz. They say our showers should last 3 minutes. Not in this life time. It's 10 minutes or nothing!

Love old buildings...

Weatherboard/wooden houses?

Henry P
27-06-2010, 03:26 PM
We don't see many here, where they're not practical because of the weather, but they're cute in European mountains

Maryd.
27-06-2010, 03:33 PM
Honestly I hate them... They are tedious and lots of work involved with caring for them.

Ian The Poet
27-06-2010, 04:25 PM
Modern buildings.

80's music?

Henry P
29-06-2010, 01:07 AM

Maryd.
29-06-2010, 01:34 AM
True... I hate the book Wuthering Heights... I see you wince, but it's true. Everyone I speak to snap at me when I tell them that. I just couldn't get into it.

Henry P

Actually yes... There is a small hand book out on 'Speed Cleaning the house' It helped me a lot.

Henry P
29-06-2010, 01:52 AM
What is the big secret of speed cleaning?

Maryd.
29-06-2010, 01:54 AM
There is two big secrets. One: A clutter bucket. Everything should be thrown into a clutter bucket so you can clean around it.
Two: Carry all your tools in one container when cleaning... Bleach, sponges, gloves etc...

Henry P
29-06-2010, 10:31 AM
Yes. I waste time looking for cloths, sponges, bottles of cleaner I've left somewhere

Maryd.
29-06-2010, 01:49 PM
There are many tricks in the book. It cost me $14.00. It was the cheapest and best investment I have ever made. I swear by this book.

Henry P
29-06-2010, 06:56 PM
Any other tips? Equipment, liquids, sequence?

Maryd.

ha ha! good one, my dear

Maryd.
30-06-2010, 12:52 AM
Sorry... Just sick of housecleaning. Ok, if you run out of detergent for bathrooms or etc... You can use bi-carb soda. It can leave a powdery feel about it, but it needs extra wiping.

Henry P
30-06-2010, 01:01 AM
I'm never out of bicarb, my dear

Maryd.
30-06-2010, 01:07 AM

Henry P

I'll buy a sack of it tomorrow

Maryd.
01-07-2010, 01:06 AM
I don't mind him... I had a huge fixation on him, when he played in the movie Summer Holiday.

Henry P
01-07-2010, 01:07 AM
I saw that, the one with the London bus going to Greece

Maryd.
01-07-2010, 01:10 AM

I like to figure out people's ethnic makeup

Maryd.
01-07-2010, 01:33 AM
That's because you are a thinker. Your mind is thinking all the time. You are very in tune with people, well that's how I see you, anyway?

Henry P
01-07-2010, 01:35 AM
I'm glad someone else thinks so

Maryd.

not had the opportunity to taste it...

hearing the chirp of a dozen birds as you wake in the morning?

Maryd.
04-07-2010, 02:49 AM
I hear that and more everyday... Birds are protected here. My area is has an abundance of trees and the many different sounds are just amazing. If you ever get to Melbourne Australia, just look up at the biggest trees and smile.

Waking up to the sound of music on a clock radio or the sound of beeping on an alarm clock?

Ian The Poet
05-07-2010, 11:26 AM
I'd prefer to wake up naturally if possible.
Sunsets.

Love good pop, but most stuff in the top 40 now is crap

Maryd.
05-07-2010, 11:22 PM
Yes... True that. Loved pop, when Michael Jackson was around.

Henry P
05-07-2010, 11:23 PM
There was great pop in the mid and late sixties

Maryd.
05-07-2010, 11:45 PM
Yes, but I was being born around that time and didn't appreciat music until the 70's

Henry P
05-07-2010, 11:48 PM
I understand. I was first aware of pop in in the middle 60s in the Beatles' heyday

Maryd.
05-07-2010, 11:55 PM
Well, I must admit. It was a good era for boppy and fun kind of music.

Henry P
05-07-2010, 11:59 PM
Yes. Pop music experts say that 1966 was the best year

Maryd.
06-07-2010, 12:11 AM
I believe them.

Henry P
06-07-2010, 12:22 AM
The World Cup?

Maryd.
06-07-2010, 12:33 AM
Truthfully I haven't been happy with this world cup.

Henry P
06-07-2010, 12:39 AM
Neither have I. There haven't been any closely fought top- class games yet

Maryd.
06-07-2010, 12:56 AM
No and I am totally disappointed in the ref's decisions made at this world cup.

Henry P
06-07-2010, 10:28 AM
It's time for proper technology, like in cricket, tennis and rugby to help make crucial decisions

Maryd.
06-07-2010, 02:17 PM
Agreed...

Milk?

Henry P
06-07-2010, 02:48 PM

Maryd.
06-07-2010, 02:51 PM
I love warm milk and sugar.

Henry P
06-07-2010, 02:53 PM
Might try that. My dad used to drink hot milk with honey and butter when he had a cold

Maryd.
06-07-2010, 03:05 PM
Circus?

Henry P
06-07-2010, 07:23 PM

Horses?

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 12:49 AM
Love cows. Don't mind horses, have a little fear of them though. Fell off one as a child.

Churches?

Henry P
07-07-2010, 12:58 AM
I love older churches but not new ones

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 12:59 AM
Small towns?

Henry P
07-07-2010, 01:07 AM
I like small towns

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 01:10 AM
Love small towns. People there are so warm and friendly. Ahh, well, one can only dream of such people.

Henry P
07-07-2010, 01:13 AM
They're less stressed than in big cities

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 01:17 AM
Yes and so much kinder too.

Henry P
07-07-2010, 01:19 AM
The schoolkids in Leeds were ruder than in small town schools

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 01:23 AM
Only the school kids Henry?

Henry P
07-07-2010, 01:25 AM
perhaps the drivers too

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 01:30 AM
And...

Henry P
07-07-2010, 01:32 AM
the shop assistants. Most people, come to think of it

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 01:38 AM
There's a lot, isn't there Henry... What do you think of small towns now?

Henry P
07-07-2010, 01:42 AM
I prefer them. What's Melbourne like?

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 01:46 AM
People are ok... Just don't go in the city. When I was pregnant with my son, 13 years ago, I had to visit the hospital in the city every Wednesdays. I would take my (then) one and a half year old daughter by pram. Men in expensive business suits would knock me over, just to get into elevators, before me.

Henry P
07-07-2010, 01:50 AM
Really? they're not that rude here, except black men in London, who walk into you, thinking you're intimidated by them

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 01:58 AM
Yes... I had to fold the pram up and place my daughter on my hip and stand on an escalator, holding the pram and baby. City men, they should be ashamed of themselves. After the first week of this I didn't take the pram and spent a lot of time carrying my daughter for most of the day.

Henry P
07-07-2010, 01:59 AM
inconsiderate b******s

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 02:16 AM
City folk... Piff.

Henry P
07-07-2010, 09:57 AM
So you're not city folk then?

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 10:04 AM
Well yes and no. Yes, we are not living in the outback or the country area. But no, because we live in the suburbs. A little quieter than the city.

Henry P
07-07-2010, 10:06 AM
So you're not actually part of Melbourne?

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 10:19 AM
Yes, the Northern suburbs of Melbourne, but not on the city Fringe.

Henry P
07-07-2010, 10:23 AM
How far away is the countryside?

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 10:26 AM
Well I am 15 or 20 minutes drive from the city, I would need an extra hour and a half to go into some form of countryside. If I wanted perfection I would need to drive further.

Henry P
07-07-2010, 10:40 AM
So Melbourne sounds very big

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 10:51 AM
I think it is....

Henry P
07-07-2010, 10:54 AM
4 million, half the size of London

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 10:55 AM
Well that's big for me. I am little you know...

Henry P
07-07-2010, 10:58 AM
I'm only 9 inches taller

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 11:00 AM
I know, I was just trying to be funny. But for one who doesn't like crowds so 4 million is a lot for me.

Henry P
07-07-2010, 02:17 PM
What is it like to be small?

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 04:15 PM
What's it like being tall?

Henry P
07-07-2010, 04:31 PM
It's good if you want to reach high shelves in supermarkets

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 04:33 PM
Being short is good if you want to look cute.

Henry P
07-07-2010, 04:35 PM
agreed. Big is not cute

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 04:41 PM
Big is cute, if you are attractive. Which from your photo I think you pass, with flying colours.

Henry P
07-07-2010, 08:36 PM
thank you, my dear. Where have some of your pictures gone to?

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 11:01 PM
I deleted them. It was getting overcrowded. But I am having trouble uploading new pics on this laptop. I have them on USB's and transfer them to the laptop, the word programs open, but the pics are unavailable, or not recognised on this computer or Andrew's laptop. So haven't been able to upload anymore. If I want to upload some I have to go to the library. Can you believe it.

Henry P
07-07-2010, 11:05 PM
computers never cease to amaze

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 11:16 PM
Computers are a pain in the "You know where."

07-07-2010, 11:18 PM

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 11:27 PM

love, if they do what I want

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 11:33 PM
I have a love - hate relationship with computers. I love them when I am editing my work and hate them when I am trying to do technical things with them.

Henry P
07-07-2010, 11:39 PM
They can be amazing but very awkward too

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 11:42 PM
People?

Henry P
07-07-2010, 11:50 PM
love, hate, like and dislike

Maryd.
07-07-2010, 11:53 PM
We are so on the same wavelength... It almost scares me.

Henry P
07-07-2010, 11:59 PM
We are most of the time

Maryd.
08-07-2010, 12:01 AM
Ok, where is it different? I mean when aren't we on the same wavelength?

Henry P
08-07-2010, 12:08 AM
I can't pinpoint anything, can you?

Maryd.
08-07-2010, 12:11 AM
Yes, you are more intelligent.

Henry P
08-07-2010, 12:14 AM
that's a matter of opinion. If I was so bright, I'd be a headteacher

Maryd.
08-07-2010, 12:20 AM
You are bright. To be a head teacher, you would have to be a cold hard faced 'you know what.' And that evil you do not have.

Henry P
08-07-2010, 12:24 AM
you're right. I couldn't boss people around or hurt their feelings

Maryd.
08-07-2010, 12:40 AM
No. You're to warm and wonderful for that.

Henry P
08-07-2010, 12:47 AM
:hug::hug:

Maryd.
08-07-2010, 01:05 AM
:hug::hug: back and a couple of mwahs as well.:)

Henry P
08-07-2010, 01:10 AM
We're so sweet, my dear
Wigs?

Maryd.
08-07-2010, 01:11 AM
Yes.

Like fun wigs.

Henry P
08-07-2010, 01:15 AM
Have you worn one?

Maryd.
08-07-2010, 01:26 AM
Yes... I dressed up as a clown at a fancy dress party once. I had a ball.

Henry P
08-07-2010, 01:29 AM
Would you wear a wig to replace your normal hair?

Maryd.
08-07-2010, 01:40 AM
No, I am entering an era that hiding things is silly. Would you?

Henry P
08-07-2010, 01:45 AM
no. They're quite easy to buy now, though

Maryd.
08-07-2010, 01:45 AM
Yes and they are better quality.

Henry P
08-07-2010, 02:50 PM
Harder to detect

Maryd.
08-07-2010, 03:10 PM
Do you wear them?

Henry P
08-07-2010, 03:14 PM
Not yet, my dear.

Maryd.
08-07-2010, 03:33 PM
Reading fiction?

Henry P
08-07-2010, 03:34 PM
Love, but not every book has been worthwhile

Maryd.
08-07-2010, 03:39 PM
Fantasy?

Henry P
08-07-2010, 04:01 PM
Like sometimes, if it's not too silly

Maryd.
08-07-2010, 04:30 PM
Science fiction?

Henry P
08-07-2010, 05:00 PM
Like. I haven't read enough. Some of it is really clever

Maryd.
08-07-2010, 11:19 PM
Romance novels?

Henry P
09-07-2010, 12:08 AM
never read one, unless you count Rebecca (awful) and jane Eyre (wonderful0

Maryd.
09-07-2010, 12:16 AM
Non-fiction?

Henry P
09-07-2010, 12:26 AM
like. I learn things from non-fiction

Maryd.
09-07-2010, 12:27 AM
Farms?

Henry P
09-07-2010, 12:35 AM
like farms, but I wouldn't want to run one

Maryd.
09-07-2010, 12:47 AM
City life?

Henry P
09-07-2010, 12:48 AM
I enjoy London, but I've always lived in small towns. Where I live now isn't even a town or a suburb

Maryd.
09-07-2010, 12:52 AM
What is it then?

Henry P
09-07-2010, 12:57 AM
A sort of big village, I suppose, joined on two other villages. Most people work in bigger towns and cities

Maryd.
09-07-2010, 01:03 AM
Horseback riding?

Henry P
09-07-2010, 01:11 AM
never done it. Have you?

Maryd.
09-07-2010, 01:16 AM
Once, got thrown off, never did it again.

Henry P
09-07-2010, 01:23 AM
It doesn't look comfortable with your legs like that

Maryd.
09-07-2010, 01:28 AM
I've never thought about it. But I haven't been on one ever since.

Henry P
09-07-2010, 01:31 AM
It must be satisfying to be able to control an animal like that, though

Maryd.
09-07-2010, 01:32 AM
Dogs?

Henry P
09-07-2010, 01:40 AM
Like their bond with humans

Maryd.
09-07-2010, 01:46 AM
Snakes?

Henry P
09-07-2010, 01:48 AM
Dislike their way of life, but I find some non-venomous small snakes quite cute

Maryd.
09-07-2010, 01:54 AM
I like them all venomous or not. They have a typical evilness about them, that I can never posses

Henry P
09-07-2010, 09:23 AM
hotels?

Maryd.
09-07-2010, 02:05 PM
Dislike

Holiday huts?

Henry P
09-07-2010, 02:23 PM
never been in one- we call them chalets

Ian The Poet
09-07-2010, 03:02 PM
Coach tours, I've been on a few over the years.

Henry P
09-07-2010, 03:09 PM
Like, provided I spend more time in the resorts than on the bus

Maryd.
10-07-2010, 12:24 AM
You guys are very worldly, I must get out more.

Holidays at the snow?

Henry P
10-07-2010, 12:45 AM
Like, but have never had one

Maryd.
10-07-2010, 12:48 AM
No, neither have I.

Hoidays on a cruise ship?

Henry P
10-07-2010, 12:50 AM
sounds good, but I hope I get off once in a while
