I like double-decker buses

Maryd.
09-06-2010, 02:15 AM
Me too.
Trains?

Henry P
09-06-2010, 02:21 AM
Like, especially old steam ones run for tourists. The compartments are so atmospheric

Maryd.
09-06-2010, 02:33 AM
Aren't they just. We have Puffin Billy here in Melbourne. But it's in the Eastern suburbs. We have been on it with the kids, they loved it.

Ian The Poet
09-06-2010, 02:25 PM
Really love the the trains, especially steam trains.
Rivers/riverbanks.

A.M.Wood
09-06-2010, 03:03 PM
My hate for filth-ridden inner city rivers knows no bound. Present me with a countryside stream, or something similar, and it'll make me really happy.

Alcohol.

Maryd.
09-06-2010, 03:54 PM
I have to admit, I like wine... Sweet red wine. So like.

Coke Cola?

Ian The Poet
09-06-2010, 04:36 PM
Hate, rots your guts.
Thunder and lightning.

Maryd.
09-06-2010, 11:36 PM
When I was younger I was always afraid of thunder and lightening, but now I am happy when it happens. It is nature after all.

Hail stones?

Henry P
09-06-2010, 11:41 PM
I like watching hail fall, always unexpected and dramatic. have you had hail down there?

Maryd.
10-06-2010, 01:03 AM
Yes... And it has done quite some damage. The size of golf balls one and cars were damaged... people who were caught in it got hurt. Otherewise the normal downfall is beautiful.

Henry P
10-06-2010, 01:11 AM
We never get hail that size. We're a modest little country, without extremes. Big places like Oz and the US get hurricanes, floods, droughts, bush fires, tornados...

Maryd.
10-06-2010, 01:30 AM
I know... That is one thing I hate about Australia, the natural disasters and of course the ones that are not so natural... Deliberately lit fires. That is one thing that makes me mad.

Henry P
10-06-2010, 01:32 AM
So some pyromaniac gets off on watching his fires burn. Saddo

Maryd.
10-06-2010, 01:50 AM
Yes and the bushfire we had a year or so ago, was horrific, lives were lost. My heart goes out to those children without parents. And parents who lost their young. Newborns in fact. I cried watching the news.

Henry P
10-06-2010, 02:03 AM
Were the arsonists caught?

Maryd.
10-06-2010, 02:15 AM
I don't think so, there were some suspects though... Talk about teens but I don't know what has happened.

Henry P
10-06-2010, 02:56 AM
Pathetic creatures

Maryd.
10-06-2010, 03:00 AM
If the families of those, that died, had anything to do with those teens, they wouldn't survive a court hearing. They wouldn't make it to jail alive.

Henry P
10-06-2010, 10:54 AM
President Obama. Is he coming your way?

Maryd.
10-06-2010, 11:08 AM
Like... I don't know. I haven't been watching, reading or listening to the news lately so I wouldn't Have a clue... Is he?

Like. there's a great solo on the Beatles' For No One

Maryd.
11-06-2010, 02:33 AM
Really I should let my daughter know. She is the only person who plays the French Horn at school, everyone else chose the usual instruments. She had to be different. She is very much her mother's daughter.

Maryd.
12-06-2010, 02:12 PM
Love picking fruit. Have a great memory of picking plums with my younger cousin. We were told to fill up a bucket fulll, but we half filled the bucket and ate the rest. We were so ill that evening.

Henry P
15-06-2010, 01:05 AM
Take your kids or a girlfriend

Maryd.
15-06-2010, 01:17 AM
Might wait another year or so for the kids. They are still young minded and their idea of a musical performance is 'Oliver Twist' or 'Annie'.

Henry P
15-06-2010, 01:29 AM
nothing wrong with that

Maryd.
15-06-2010, 01:38 AM
No, I liked both movies and now Andrew will be playing Oliver at school. Actually it is coming up at the end of july, I'll be going to book the tickets today. I have 12 people coming already.

15-06-2010, 01:43 AM
So Andrew is Oliver?

Maryd.
15-06-2010, 01:56 AM

Henry P
16-06-2010, 03:31 PM
Yes, Ian. what did you get?

Ian The Poet
16-06-2010, 07:35 PM
Some money, I've never really celebrated my big birthdays.

Henry P
16-06-2010, 11:56 PM
Why not? You should

Maryd.
17-06-2010, 12:57 AM

Henry P
17-06-2010, 01:12 AM
Bake him a cake, Maryd

Maryd.
17-06-2010, 02:07 AM
I think I put the cake on another thread

Henry P
17-06-2010, 03:56 PM
Yes, but I ate it

Maryd.
17-06-2010, 04:12 PM
That's alright, if it were anyone else I would be cross, but since it is you...

Did you like it?

Henry P
17-06-2010, 04:16 PM
Delicious, my dear. Which cheese did you use?

Maryd.
17-06-2010, 04:28 PM
Just imagine your favourite cheese... Then that is the one.

Maryd.
17-06-2010, 11:58 PM
Marking or sitting the examx?

Henry P
18-06-2010, 12:08 AM
Marking, but I didn't dislike doing exams

Maryd.
18-06-2010, 12:53 AM
I found them nerve racking. I tremble under pressure. Something that stems back from my weird childhood. It can actually be noticable. It only ever happens when I am under pressure, nervous or even very excited. It's really weird.

Henry P
18-06-2010, 12:58 AM
ironing?

Maryd.
18-06-2010, 01:16 AM
It's actually one of lifes choirs that I don't mind doing. Mind you if you know how to fold your clothes up neatly, some clothes should never need ironing.

Washing clothes?

Henry P
18-06-2010, 01:19 AM
don't mind. We have a great new washer, a Bosch with a big drum

Maryd.
18-06-2010, 01:33 AM
Sounds good, my husband bought our washing machine 4 years ago and bought a 5.5kilo size. Golly I am always washing as the loads are too big for the machine.

Henry P
18-06-2010, 02:03 AM
ours is 8 or something

Maryd.
18-06-2010, 02:09 AM
I have been doing my homework. The next one I buy will be the new 8.5 ones. One needs a big washing machine, when you have kids.

Dishwasher?

Henry P
18-06-2010, 02:21 AM
we have one. me

Maryd.
18-06-2010, 02:23 AM

Vacuuming?

Henry P
18-06-2010, 02:26 AM
quite like because there's an instant visible result

Maryd.
18-06-2010, 02:33 AM
Honestly I hate vacuuming. It is the one job I hate. But I love mopping.

Mopping?

Henry P
18-06-2010, 11:00 AM
Quite like if there's an instant result, but not as routine. I'veslipped on wet tiled floors in the kitchen and utility room a few times

Maryd.
18-06-2010, 11:35 AM
You must be careful, my good sir... I don't want to see you all broken.

Henry P
18-06-2010, 11:40 AM
I've never broken a bone yet

Maryd.
18-06-2010, 03:59 PM
No, neither have I.

Henry P
18-06-2010, 10:46 PM
Can be good, but the game we just watched wasn't

Maryd.
18-06-2010, 11:16 PM
Boring game...

Henry P
18-06-2010, 11:18 PM
Many are very defensive or just full of mistakes

Maryd.
18-06-2010, 11:29 PM
Especially near the goals.

Henry P
18-06-2010, 11:37 PM
It's nerves and haste under pressure, a lackof composure and fast thinking

Maryd.
19-06-2010, 12:35 AM

Henry P
19-06-2010, 12:40 PM
I like watching them

Maryd.
19-06-2010, 01:25 PM

Henry P

Henry P

It's supposed to bring good luck

Maryd.
19-06-2010, 02:30 PM

Henry P
19-06-2010, 02:30 PM
superstition?

Maryd.
19-06-2010, 02:45 PM
Dislike and have never believed it. I once walked under a ladder 4 times because some superstitious old man told me not to, or I'll get 7 years bad luck. Then I turne to him and said there, that makes 28 years.

Post-It notes?

Maryd.
20-06-2010, 01:39 AM
Hate them they always go missing... I use an excercise book. Every now and then, people look at the book and see if there is anything for them. It works I never lose notes.

Caravans?

Henry P
20-06-2010, 04:16 PM
Dislike, I think, probably because I've only driven behind them and not stayed in them.
what about you?

Maryd.
20-06-2010, 04:21 PM
I've never been in a caravan. I've seen them, but never been in one.

Henry P
20-06-2010, 04:27 PM
I 've been in a friend's caravan, but there's all the hassle of towing it .You're not thinking of getting one, are you?

Maryd.
20-06-2010, 04:29 PM
No... God no, where would we put it? I mean we share a driveway. It isn't pracitical.

Henry P
20-06-2010, 04:33 PM
I haven't room either

Maryd.
20-06-2010, 04:34 PM
It could be good for travel thought, don't you think?

Henry P
20-06-2010, 04:37 PM
Cheaper than hotels, but you have to buy it, maintain it and buy more petrol

Maryd.
20-06-2010, 04:42 PM
True that, but imagine the privacy... (she says, as she coughs and giggles)

Henry P
20-06-2010, 04:48 PM
people can always gawp through the windows, my dear

Maryd.
20-06-2010, 04:50 PM
No darling, that's what drapes are for.

Henry P
20-06-2010, 04:53 PM
Doh! I'm not so clever after all

Maryd.
20-06-2010, 04:56 PM
You're clever, I just think you like to tease me with this, playing dumb thing... Yes?

Henry P
20-06-2010, 04:57 PM
No that time. I just plain forgot about the existence of curtains in my desire to amuse

Maryd.
20-06-2010, 05:02 PM
You're so cute... You crack me up.

Henry P
20-06-2010, 05:07 PM

Maryd.
20-06-2010, 05:09 PM

Henry P
20-06-2010, 05:29 PM
