O Cry ..Africa
O world ..What have we done
We closed our eyes..then the genocide begun
O Mother Africa..... forgive us
You nurtured our civilisation with love..
Now we exploit and betray you...
So much sadness..Poverty...neglect
From the Sands of the Sahara to the Horn
Many nations exploited your great riches with avarice and scorn
Then we abandoned your children
Left them to die in the agony of poverty
A poverty that can be eradicated..If we just try
O Mother Africa ...I cry the tears for each lost little one
I watch the little girl whimper and die
Her father held he in his arms and cried
There was little he could do
We have raped your cities of their riches
They have been given to an exclusive few
Now is time for these Multinationals to pay their due
You continent has nurtured many animals both strong and mild
Beauty so incredible , somewhere that still reflects natures wild
But we have hunted so many of your animals to almost extinction
What for , money, a small taste for small minded men
We hunted your animals for pride, an ego so degraded..My face I hide
Shame world for what you have done
For the animals of Africa are beautiful, diversified
Sadly you have the conscience of cold and vile gun
No more mass hunting, show respect
Go back to traditional ways with a spear
Take only whats needed for food and not for ego
Else soon nothing will be left and the animals will be gone
We must all look back and rebuild the mother
In every way we can..For Gods sake please help our fellow man
Stop this wanton Genocide...a greed that cant be denied
Look to your soul,You vile obscene rich, do your required bit
Some still claim that the people can help themselves
Yet we block their trade, exploit their debt and rape their lands
We the world has so much blood on our hands
O Africa mother of life we love your very soul
Please let us reach out and somehow make you again whole
Let your children laugh again and play with full bellies
Let your resources fulfill the pockets of the many (not the few)
Let your people have the technology that will save many sad lives
But most of all Mother Africa may you, the gem of life, truly survive
