A while back I changed the password on my PC, at the time I was a little bit out of it on my meds.

Anyway, for the life of me I can't remember what I changed it too :(

Dose anyone know how to get pass this ?

Software system; Windows XP home.

for what it's worth, this is not looking too good though

I think I may create a Password Disk myself now, lest I find myself in your situation. If you have to reinstall the OS it may be worth creating several HardDrive partitions. I've done this, keeping Drive 'C' purely for the OS and any bloody Utility that won't allow me to install it any where but drive 'C'. When I had to re-install the OS all my images and documents on 'D' and 'E' Drives were safe. I had to re-install the Programs on those drives simply to reconnect the Programs with the OS, but my personal stuff was saved - a blessing.
Not sure if you can pay someone Squillions to access your hard drive and recover your personal data before re-installing the OS. Come to think of it, when police etc seize computers, how do they access the info on them without Passwords - it may well be that Microsoft is not being totally honest with us here?

Goodluck with it

this might be a bit of a goer?
see .......
"Method 2: Log on as an administrator to reset the password
Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional"
...... on above link first re No Password set for Admin (assuming you never set one?)

Hope it helps?

okay i have had to to this in the past myself, you have to start your pc in safe mode. to start the pc in safe mode after the power on self test hold down the F8 until the welcome screen appears, use the arrow keys to select safe mode then you can use the adim account to log on and reset your password. If you have any more questions their is a whole section on this on the microsoft web site

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894902/

their shouldn't be any password on the admin account so you should be able to log straight on
Hope this helps.

bewdie,
gives me hope (laughing))))

I've just changed my password after several years and probably half the time I type the old one in and have to rack my brain for the new one. I have separation anxieties at the thought that one day my brain will refuse to be racked.
