XTC were a great band, melodic, rocky, quirky, with two fine songwriters. Underrated except by the cognoscenti. But the Kaiser Chiefs certainly listened to them . Check out any of XTC's hits, Dear God, Things we did on grass and the Disappointed. Superb and undated.
