Have you ever... buried a pet?
The world would not be right without balance.
Where there is love there must also be hate.
Where there is life there must always be death.
Such a thin line seperates them yet they are so different.
John Ashleigh
12-10-2011, 06:05 PM
When I was younger I buried my cat.

Poets Muse
14-10-2011, 04:23 PM
Yes....but it was Peter Griffin on family guy.
Have you ever.....been a victim of a hate crime?
John Ashleigh

Henry P
14-10-2011, 07:46 PM
probably. was he in Bright Eyes?
John Ashleigh
14-10-2011, 10:08 PM
Yeah. I love his songs, he is so emotional and I can relate. 'Milk Thistle' is one of my favourites. Do you like Bright Eyes?
Henry P
15-10-2011, 08:15 AM
I can't name one of their songs
John Ashleigh
15-10-2011, 12:56 PM
They're not actually that well known.
Have you ever met someone famous?
Henry P
15-10-2011, 08:50 PM

Have you?
John Ashleigh
15-10-2011, 09:42 PM
No, but I'd love to meet Bob Dylan....
Henry P
16-10-2011, 10:08 AM
He's famously elusive He twigged early that being cryptic and hard to get hold of would add to his mystique, and add the aura of his music
John Ashleigh
16-10-2011, 11:59 AM
I know, you never see him on TV at all.
Henry P
17-10-2011, 01:48 PM
you see what I mean
John Ashleigh
17-10-2011, 02:18 PM
I'd like to see him being interviewed on the One Show...
Henry P
17-10-2011, 02:52 PM
I doubt it somehow
John Ashleigh
17-10-2011, 03:14 PM
I doubt it to...
Have you ever had financial problems?

17-10-2011, 03:45 PM

Henry P
17-10-2011, 04:04 PM
not yet
John Ashleigh
17-10-2011, 04:11 PM
What do you mean 'not yet' Mr Henry?
Poets Muse
17-10-2011, 04:16 PM
he means not yet
Henry P
18-10-2011, 12:59 PM
It means I'm not so old yet, so I can supplement my pension and don't have to wear down my savings
Barley
18-10-2011, 01:10 PM
Have you ever had a recurring dream?
Shanalorm
18-10-2011, 01:37 PM
Yes and they were quite fun
Have you ever had a predictive dream?
Henry P
18-10-2011, 01:47 PM
not yet, just incoherent and disturbing semi-conscious rambling
Shanalorm
18-10-2011, 02:32 PM
I sometimes do, some are really weird
Henry P
18-10-2011, 02:50 PM
explain your predictive dream which came true
Shanalorm
18-10-2011, 06:23 PM
They are more generally about some choice or
happening that would come. Like I dreamed I was
skating uphill with someone, but when we got at the
top he fell over, crashed down into a boat and the
boat started to drift from the banks. It was too
far away for him to jump back and the only way to
reach te boat was over the rope. So with skates still on
I had to walk over the rope, without anything to hold.
Normally I never wear skates, but do like boats- that's
beside the point though.
Anyway. A week or so later he and his girl got trouble
and he didn't know what to do anymore. It took me great
effort to get him to tell what troubled him and eventually
he asked my advice.
There were other dreams though.
In the end it all depends on how you interpretate one.
Henry P
18-10-2011, 08:44 PM
Many dreams are visual analogies for something embedded deep in your mind
John Ashleigh
19-10-2011, 11:27 AM
Have you ever burnt yourself badly?
Henry P
19-10-2011, 02:08 PM
not very badly, but I once was splashed by boiling jam
Have you?
John Ashleigh
19-10-2011, 02:09 PM
I burnt my thumb on a soldering iron once. It really hurt.
Henry P
19-10-2011, 02:52 PM
I was burned in school once, foolishly touch a heated test tube
John Ashleigh
19-10-2011, 02:58 PM
Ouch.
Have you ever been surfing?
Poets Muse
19-10-2011, 04:45 PM
No
I have been burned. I was 3 and I wanted to see if the shicken was done so I opened up the oven and put my hands on it, bubbling fat and all. Oh and i burnt my hand on hot hot hot cheese. These both hurt real bad.
Have you ever ran away?
John Ashleigh
19-10-2011, 11:36 PM
When I was younger....
You?
Henry P
20-10-2011, 11:22 AM
never
Have you ever had your car scratched deliberately?
John Ashleigh
20-10-2011, 01:11 PM
No, but I do not own a car....
You?
Henry P
20-10-2011, 01:54 PM
yes- outside a friend's house. Some b*st*rd scratched both doors down the passenger side
John Ashleigh
20-10-2011, 03:35 PM
Why does anyone feel the need to do that?
Poets Muse
20-10-2011, 04:50 PM
They don't realise the consequence of their actions and they don't particularly care. They normally do it with keys.
I didn't run away but I did leave the house because I wanted to go to the shops with dad but I wasn't allowed. We live near a crossroads and I turned the wrong way. In the end I was found by someone with a german shepeard and I was allowed to watch Tm and Jerry. I liked it so much I didn't want to go back to basic cable. I was 4.
Henry P
20-10-2011, 07:51 PM
Whoever did my car used something sharper than keys, like a knife. The mindless c*nt
John Ashleigh
20-10-2011, 08:55 PM
Have you ever bought a pirate DVD?
Henry P
20-10-2011, 11:10 PM
no, but I bought some bootleg tapes abroad
John Ashleigh
21-10-2011, 12:18 PM
What artist? I have some Bob Dylan bootleg CD's......
Henry P
21-10-2011, 04:25 PM
everybody from Supergrass to Nirvana because they were cheap in the days before online music
John Ashleigh
21-10-2011, 05:22 PM
I still own a few tapes....
Henry P
21-10-2011, 06:34 PM
I have hundreds, and play them in my cars
John Ashleigh
21-10-2011, 10:37 PM
What about vinyls? Do you have any of them?
Henry P
23-10-2011, 03:32 PM
I have lots of vinyls, mainly scratched, but my turntable on the stereo is busted
John Ashleigh
23-10-2011, 03:48 PM
Well have you asked Father Christmas for another turntable?
Henry P
23-10-2011, 06:55 PM
He said no because I subscribe to Spotify
John Ashleigh
23-10-2011, 06:56 PM
Haha.
Have you ever watched The Simpsons?
Henry P
23-10-2011, 07:31 PM
of course- a brilliant sitcom; how old is that baby now?
John Ashleigh
23-10-2011, 07:42 PM
Yeah haha, I am not sure....
Have you ever been on medication of some kind?
Henry P
23-10-2011, 08:55 PM
many times
you?
John Ashleigh
23-10-2011, 10:36 PM
Yes.
Have you ever been arrested?
Henry P
24-10-2011, 11:20 AM
not yet. I'll wait till no one wants to employ me in any way
John Ashleigh
24-10-2011, 04:31 PM
I used to get arrested alot just so I had a bed to sleep in.
Henry P
24-10-2011, 04:43 PM
so you have a record?
John Ashleigh
24-10-2011, 04:53 PM
Probably not anymore. A criminal record is deleted after 5 years......or so I have been told.
Henry P
24-10-2011, 05:08 PM
I think so. Unless you do more than 5 years
John Ashleigh
24-10-2011, 05:10 PM
Well it was only petty crime, so I am sure I have no record. :)
Henry P
24-10-2011, 07:44 PM
I was fined for driving alone before I passed my test. Our neighbour happened to be a policeman, but he's dead now
Barley
24-10-2011, 09:22 PM
I was fined for driving alone before I passed my test. Our neighbour happened to be a policeman, but he's dead now
That sounds so sinister!
John Ashleigh
24-10-2011, 10:09 PM
I was fined for driving alone before I passed my test. Our neighbour happened to be a policeman, but he's dead now
Was it a heavy fine?
Henry P
25-10-2011, 11:16 AM
about £50 in 1980 , so yes. I didn't earn much more a week as a novice teacher
Ah, the sinister power of well-chosen words!
John Ashleigh
25-10-2011, 12:21 PM
Have you ever donated blood?
Poets Muse
25-10-2011, 12:50 PM
no but when I can I will
John Ashleigh
25-10-2011, 12:52 PM
I have donated blood many times - it is the least I can do.
Have you ever had rum in your coffee?
Poets Muse
25-10-2011, 01:24 PM
Yes, at christmas this one time. i've sworn off it.
hye eaten a meal somone made just because they msade it not coz u like it?
John Ashleigh
25-10-2011, 01:25 PM
Sometimes - it is called being polite.
You?
Henry P
25-10-2011, 01:41 PM
many times
Poets Muse
25-10-2011, 01:43 PM
same here, my mum makes a christmas cake every year and it is so alcoholic the dog got a tiny bit and was drunk.
John Ashleigh
25-10-2011, 01:46 PM
Christmas cake should have too much alcahol for me.
Henry P
25-10-2011, 02:06 PM
boozy cake is rich and fragrant
Poets Muse
25-10-2011, 02:07 PM
but totally bad when your pet gets a hold of it.
Henry P
25-10-2011, 02:10 PM
lock it away
John Ashleigh
25-10-2011, 02:11 PM
Or eat it quick.
Poets Muse
25-10-2011, 02:11 PM
can't i'll get locked out
Henry P
25-10-2011, 02:13 PM
Have you ever killed animals for food?
John Ashleigh
25-10-2011, 02:16 PM
No I haven't.
You?
Poets Muse
25-10-2011, 02:20 PM
no but i really would like to- i'm a very practical girl- i would be happy with skinning and gutting an animal then roasting it over an open fire.
you?
Henry P
25-10-2011, 02:20 PM
I helped with the massacre and skinning of rabbits once. But they tasted good
John Ashleigh
25-10-2011, 02:21 PM
I could also do that- but I don't think I'd be put in that type of situation.
Poets Muse
25-10-2011, 02:22 PM
could always put yourself in that situation.
John Ashleigh
25-10-2011, 02:22 PM
I am happy with a meal on a plate at home.
Henry P
25-10-2011, 02:25 PM
aren't we all?
Poets Muse
25-10-2011, 02:26 PM
Boooriiing! lol
John Ashleigh
25-10-2011, 02:30 PM
Have you ever had your heart broken?
Poets Muse
25-10-2011, 02:30 PM
not in the literal sense, no.
John Ashleigh
25-10-2011, 02:31 PM
That is good to hear.
Poets Muse
25-10-2011, 02:32 PM
u aren't hearing it, you're reading it :)
John Ashleigh
25-10-2011, 02:33 PM
Have you ever made up a funny joke?
Poets Muse
25-10-2011, 02:35 PM
all the time - they just sound better to me than the audience
John Ashleigh
25-10-2011, 02:36 PM
I know the feeling.
Poets Muse
25-10-2011, 02:37 PM
it's quite embarassing when you're laughng really hard and their looking at you like....was that the joke? i dn't get it...
Henry P
25-10-2011, 04:16 PM
Being funny isn't easy. The pace and timing of your joke are factors, but the most important one is expectation- if someone expects you to be funny or has paid to be amused, they'll laugh at nearly anything. Comics like Jo Brand who isn't funny make a living that way, from middle-class audiences too polite to not laugh and get "value" for the price of their tickets
John Ashleigh
25-10-2011, 04:17 PM
I am naturally funny.
Ha.
Poets Muse
25-10-2011, 04:19 PM
Same some people are just too dumb to get it. *sob*
Henry P
26-10-2011, 04:53 PM
Some people are just dumb
John Ashleigh
26-10-2011, 05:12 PM
Have you ever seen Tracy Chapman live?
Henry P
26-10-2011, 05:18 PM
no
Have you seen a Beatle live?
John Ashleigh
26-10-2011, 05:20 PM
Nope.
Have you ever uploaded anything on Youtube?
Henry P
26-10-2011, 08:18 PM
No. I bet you have?
John Ashleigh
26-10-2011, 11:03 PM
No I haven't. Some have said I should upload me playing the guitar, but I don't think I am good enough to stand out with the competition on Youtube.
Henry P
27-10-2011, 11:32 AM
There's some rubbish on there too
John Ashleigh
27-10-2011, 01:05 PM
I don't know why they upload themselves.
Have you ever climbed a tree to the top?
Henry P
27-10-2011, 02:15 PM
never> I was a wimp when it came to daredevil show-off stuff
Have you?
John Ashleigh
27-10-2011, 02:19 PM
I used to love climbing trees, but I don't think I could do it now....
I miss childhood sometimes.
Henry P
27-10-2011, 02:21 PM
I miss mine too, but wisdom is a compensation
John Ashleigh
27-10-2011, 02:23 PM
True - but some innocence would be nice.
Have you ever slept rough?
Henry P
27-10-2011, 02:34 PM
never. Have you?
John Ashleigh
27-10-2011, 03:20 PM
Yes, alot.
Henry P
27-10-2011, 07:36 PM
Sounds grim
John Ashleigh
27-10-2011, 11:04 PM
It was grim but you get used to it.
Have you ever found alot of money on the street?
Henry P
28-10-2011, 08:29 AM
only a pound note
John Ashleigh
28-10-2011, 11:01 AM
I have found a £20 note before.
Henry P
28-10-2011, 11:06 AM
keep looking
John Ashleigh
28-10-2011, 11:14 AM
Have you ever buried a pet?
Henry P
28-10-2011, 11:30 AM
Not personally, but my dad buried my cat when it died
John Ashleigh
28-10-2011, 11:33 AM
Have you ever helped build a house?
Henry P
28-10-2011, 11:41 AM
No
Have you?
John Ashleigh
28-10-2011, 11:46 AM
No, but I built a shed once.
Henry P
28-10-2011, 12:00 PM
Does a greenhouse count?
John Ashleigh
28-10-2011, 12:06 PM
I suppose.
I'd love to get a greenhouse next year...I'll have to inform you about what I plant so you can give me some advice on growing vegetables.
Henry P
28-10-2011, 12:16 PM
We only grew tomatoes and gherkins.
John Ashleigh
28-10-2011, 12:18 PM
I'd like to grow tomatoes, peppers and cucumber.
Henry P
28-10-2011, 12:40 PM
It's easy. Use growbags or dig in manure. Natural fertilisers make veg taste good
John Ashleigh
28-10-2011, 12:49 PM
I know that you can get tomato feed. Is it worth buying some of that?
Henry P
28-10-2011, 04:17 PM
manure is better. Go to a stable . They can't get rid fast enough
John Ashleigh
28-10-2011, 04:35 PM
I'll keep that in mind. Thankyou.
Henry P
28-10-2011, 04:36 PM
It's free, but go for stuff without much straw
John Ashleigh
28-10-2011, 04:43 PM
Ok then. :)
Have you ever seen someone die? (I know, a horrible question)
Henry P
28-10-2011, 04:49 PM
only on film
Have you?
John Ashleigh
28-10-2011, 05:47 PM
Only on film.
Have you ever suffered from insomnia?
Henry P
28-10-2011, 06:15 PM
not really
Have you?
John Ashleigh
28-10-2011, 06:19 PM
Yes when I was a teenager...I can still get bouts of it.
Henry P
28-10-2011, 07:24 PM
Don't drink caffeine in the evenings, or too much alcohol either. Eat more lettuce and drink milk in the evenings
Shanalorm
28-10-2011, 10:21 PM
I tried a lot too but nothing helps as much as a plant next to your bed, preferably a vern or something. They clean the air in a good way and produce much oxygen. It helps sleeping...
John Ashleigh
28-10-2011, 11:24 PM
Thankyou for the advice, I appreciate it.
Barley
29-10-2011, 12:23 AM
Have you ever nearly died?
John Ashleigh
29-10-2011, 12:24 AM
Yes, once.
You?
Henry P
29-10-2011, 11:04 PM
never
Have you?
Never nearly died
Have you ever bcome aware that you are dreaming?
John Ashleigh
08-11-2011, 11:23 AM
Yes and it was very strange. If you realise you are dreaming you have more control over the dream. Does anyone agree?
Henry P
08-11-2011, 12:09 PM
Yes. I've sometimes woken myself up to get out of unpleasant dreams. I'm sure many of us do
John Ashleigh
08-11-2011, 11:57 PM
Have you ever passed out?
Henry P
09-11-2011, 09:53 AM
I fainted in church when I was a boy
John Ashleigh
09-11-2011, 01:42 PM
How come?
Henry P
09-11-2011, 03:03 PM
I don't know. I remember feeling faint, then the next thing I knew I was in the priest's house at the back of the church
John Ashleigh
09-11-2011, 05:10 PM
I fainted when I started a new medication.
Henry P
09-11-2011, 08:19 PM
Must have been strong stuff
John Ashleigh
09-11-2011, 10:09 PM
It was.
Have you ever watched 'Frozen Planet' on BBC1?
Henry P
10-11-2011, 10:44 AM
Every week- beautiful. British TV at its best
John Ashleigh
10-11-2011, 11:10 AM
I agree. The scenery is magical.
Have you ever been sick in a public place?
Henry P
10-11-2011, 12:33 PM
no. Have you?
John Ashleigh
10-11-2011, 12:34 PM
I've been sick in a pub before....
Henry P
10-11-2011, 08:02 PM
I've pooped in a public place
John Ashleigh
10-11-2011, 08:54 PM
In a public toilet I would hope...Haha.
Henry P
10-11-2011, 09:00 PM
No, beside the M1 near Luton. When you have to go...
John Ashleigh
10-11-2011, 10:37 PM
Haha.
Have you ever owned a teddy bear?
Henry P
10-11-2011, 11:12 PM
yes, when I was a child
John Ashleigh
10-11-2011, 11:41 PM
Have you ever watched "Misfits" on channel 4.
Henry P
11-11-2011, 10:50 AM
No. Is it good?
John Ashleigh
11-11-2011, 01:16 PM
It is brilliant, Henry. There are only two seasons at the moment, but I highly recommend watching it. It is quite funny.
Henry P
11-11-2011, 02:04 PM
I'll give it a go
John Ashleigh
11-11-2011, 02:40 PM
Let me know what you think of it.
Henry P
11-11-2011, 03:20 PM
will do
John Ashleigh
11-11-2011, 03:34 PM
Have you ever had a facial?

no. Have you?
John Ashleigh
11-11-2011, 03:49 PM
I have had three facials in the last week. My sister is doing a beauty course, so I let her experiment on me.

Sucker. The only way I would let someone experiment on me with cosmetics is if they held a gun to my head. And even then I would protest
John Ashleigh
11-11-2011, 04:20 PM
Anything that makes my skin soft and helps education is a good thing. :)
Poets Muse
11-11-2011, 04:30 PM
Then donate your body to cosmetic science!
John Ashleigh
11-11-2011, 04:41 PM
I think I might.
Henry P
13-11-2011, 06:23 PM
but only if you live to a very old age
John Ashleigh
13-11-2011, 06:42 PM
Would you do it, Henry?
Henry P
13-11-2011, 06:48 PM
Have a facial? Yes
Leave my face to cosmetic surgeons? No
John Ashleigh
13-11-2011, 06:49 PM
It is a bonus having a sister who does all these beauty therapy things...
Henry P
13-11-2011, 07:05 PM
I'd just have liked to have a sister...
John Ashleigh
13-11-2011, 07:22 PM
Were you an only child?
Henry P
13-11-2011, 07:44 PM
Yes. My mum had miscarriages, so that was that
John Ashleigh
13-11-2011, 11:35 PM
I'm sorry to hear that.
Henry P
14-11-2011, 09:16 AM
Thanks
John Ashleigh
14-11-2011, 11:58 AM
Have you ever known someone to have a stroke?
Henry P
14-11-2011, 04:28 PM
Yes- the friend of a friend, but it may be dementia as well
John Ashleigh
14-11-2011, 11:34 PM
Oh that is harsh. Is your friend OK?
Henry P
15-11-2011, 10:36 AM
He's not exactly a friend, but he's in day care and returns home for the night
John Ashleigh
15-11-2011, 11:41 AM
Have you ever been to America?
Henry P
15-11-2011, 12:49 PM
Not yet
Have you?
John Ashleigh
15-11-2011, 12:51 PM
No, but I would love to go travelling in America one day. One can dream.
Henry P
15-11-2011, 02:07 PM
Yes
John Ashleigh
15-11-2011, 02:09 PM
Have you ever been to Greece?
Henry P
16-11-2011, 09:43 AM
no. Have you?
John Ashleigh
16-11-2011, 01:21 PM
Nope.
Have you ever been to Turkey?
Henry P
16-11-2011, 02:01 PM
no, but I'd go to Istanbul. Their food is good, like Greek but better
John Ashleigh
16-11-2011, 03:37 PM
Turkey is a lovely place.
Henry P
16-11-2011, 04:15 PM
Where did you go?
John Ashleigh
16-11-2011, 05:42 PM
Oludenise. I'm not sure how to spell it. It is near the Turquoise coast.
Henry P
16-11-2011, 08:15 PM
turquoise means Turkish in French
John Ashleigh
16-11-2011, 09:06 PM
I didn't know that...
You should go to Turkey. I highly recommend it.
Henry P
17-11-2011, 12:19 PM
It's on my list
John Ashleigh
17-11-2011, 12:21 PM
What else is on your list?
Henry P
17-11-2011, 12:25 PM
The US, China, South America, Mexico...
John Ashleigh
17-11-2011, 12:29 PM
What about Japan?
Henry P
17-11-2011, 12:34 PM
perhaps, but it lost its mystique after my daughter went there
John Ashleigh
17-11-2011, 12:35 PM
I'd do anything to go to Japan.
Have you ever followed a religion?
Henry P
17-11-2011, 12:45 PM
yes. I was brought up a Catholic and still go to church most Sundays. I believe in Jesus, but not the Church itself.
John Ashleigh
17-11-2011, 12:47 PM
I appreciate people have different beliefs and such, but it just isn't for me.
Henry P
17-11-2011, 12:53 PM
People need to think for themselves and not swallow whole belief systems hook, line and sinker. Many practices associated with religion are just nonsense
John Ashleigh
17-11-2011, 12:54 PM
I think I believe there was a man named Jesus and that he was very influential, but the 'God' part throws me.
Henry P
17-11-2011, 12:57 PM
I believe in God, but not the ways that he has been interpreted by different cultures and institutions in search of power over others
John Ashleigh
17-11-2011, 12:58 PM
I suppose the idea of God could be anything.
Henry P
17-11-2011, 01:06 PM
He's a creator to me, who got everything going
John Ashleigh
17-11-2011, 01:06 PM
I can respect that. I think many would agree with you.
Henry P
17-11-2011, 02:22 PM
we have to find our truths and not accept other people's opinions
John Ashleigh
17-11-2011, 02:51 PM
Have you ever blind baked?
Henry P
17-11-2011, 03:30 PM
What does that mean?
John Ashleigh
17-11-2011, 03:35 PM
Cooking pastry before cooking the filling.
Henry P
17-11-2011, 04:33 PM
i thought so. No. I bet you have
John Ashleigh
17-11-2011, 04:56 PM
Only the once.
Henry P
18-11-2011, 10:34 AM
I've never baked anything
John Ashleigh
18-11-2011, 10:40 AM
It is never too late to start.
Henry P
18-11-2011, 11:16 AM
True
John Ashleigh
18-11-2011, 11:29 AM
Last Christmas we made a Turkey pie with the left over turkey and gravy. I promise you it is the best meat pie you'll ever taste.
Henry P
18-11-2011, 11:36 AM
A good idea
Have you ever been to a funeral?
John Ashleigh
18-11-2011, 11:37 AM
Three.
You?
Henry P
18-11-2011, 11:46 AM
Yes. Nine, I think, but then I'm very old
John Ashleigh
18-11-2011, 11:48 AM
You're still in your prime, sir.
Have you ever been to a wedding?
Henry P
18-11-2011, 11:50 AM
yes- my own and two others
Have you ever been a best man?
