Hello,
I was just wondering what other peoples IQ scores are on the board.
My IQ at the moment is 142 (reasonably good for a 16 year-old)
Actually 142 is exceptional. That converts to a Z-score of 2.8. (All IQ tests are set up with a norm of 100 and a standard deviation of 15.) A Z-score of 2.8 gives a P=.9974 which means that 99.74% of students your age have an IQ equal to or below 142.
I've never taken an IQ test so I have no idea what mine is. Nor do I really care to find out. :)

I haven't taken an IQ myself, I don't believe it to be accurate enough for my liking. You can take multiple tests and (quite obviously) get scores that vary alot.
I've a friend (20 years old) that has an IQ of 156. I personally don't need to have a test determine my own inteligence.
I think 100 is the average, so as long as you aren't below that then your not too bad. and if you are, well, who cares.
Also, your IQ score will lower with age. So when you are 20, it won't be what it is now, it should be lower.

My IQ score is ...
Must stop self from saying "over 9000" ...
I don't know what my IQ score is, just that on the SATs and stuff I get verbal scores that make me go "Yay!" and math scores that make me want to hurt myself.:cry2: Seriously, I feel so unmanly.

I don't know what my IQ is. I know I had it tested when I was really little, and it must have been either really good or really bad because afterwards I got put into all of these programs with kids older than me... but IQ tests for kids are sooo much funner than the ones for adults. I don't think I'd have the patience to actually *sit* an IQ test.... I'm quite impatient haha.

by the way, below 70 is mental defect, 70-80 is borderline, 80-90 is below average, 90-110 is average, 110-120 above average, 130-140 superior, 140+ very superior. Or something like that anyway... I only roughly remember from that psych project I did at the start of the year.
IQ scores are based on the normal curve or bell curve. The mean score is set at 100 and the standard deviation is 15. Among other things this means:
66.7% of all IQ scores are between 85-115
95% of all IQ scores are between 70-130
99.7% of all IQ scores are between 55-145
Typically a score of 70 is regarded as borderline mental retardation. Scores at or below 55 are considered severe mental redardation. People with scores of 70 can lead largely normal lives and are capable of holding menial jobs, taking care of personal hygiene, and understanding some abstract thought.
Scores above 130 indicate exceptional reasoning ability. Scores above 145 are definitey in the genius range with a little less than 3 in 1000 people being in this range.
There has been a lot of controversy regarding IQ scores recently. The main problem is that IQ tests only rate specific types of reasoning and understanding. Typically this is limited to math and problem solving type skills. Things such as creativity and social skills are almost never tested or rated with IQ tests, so take the results with a grain of salt. Autistic people who excel at math and problem solving could rate off the chart on an IQ test or could flunk it because they have no language skills.

If creativity etc were included then mental people would probably have a remotely better IQ, as their minds have that mental excuse that they appear to 'see'(or in some way or form) stuff, I say stuff because a mental person can sometimes come up with a song for a reason, draw who knows.
There is something going on in a mental persons mind that blocks the normal thinking path, they get 'sane block' while we get 'art block'
interesting no? :D
