I need cases in which Allusion, Assonance, Diction, Imagery, Similes, Metaphors, Personification, Tone, and Symbol occur in published poems. Any help for any of the terms listed above is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :toothbrush:
So you want assonance but not alliteration or consonance?

I already have alliteration figured out, and I've never even heard of consonance.
Strictly speaking alliteration is repetition of consonant sounds only on stressed syllables. Consonance is the general repetition of consonant sounds. The best examples of alliteration can be found in Old English passages of "Beowulf." John Donne is known for his complex metaphors. "A Fever" by John Donne has some good similies and metaphors. For symbolism look for any poem about or using roses. You are almost guaranteed for find the rose used as a symbol for love. Alternatively roads and rivers tend to stand as symbols for life and in particular the journey of life.

Hmmm, I didn't know Beowulf was written so long ago. Anyway, thanks for that. Now I only need 7 more! =D
