View Full Version : Nouns of Multitude
Most people have heard the general terms for groups of animals such as a pack of wolves, a herd of bison, a school of fish, or a pride of lions. These general terms are known as nouns of multitude. However there are dozens, if not hundreds of them. A few of the lesser known ones are as follows:
A murder of crows
A parliament of owls
A troubling of goldfish
If you know one not mentioned feel free to chime in.

A gaggle of geese
A clutch of chickens
A cackle of crows
Flock of seagulls
Mob of Kangaroos
Sloth of bears
I'm almost 100% certain that a group of crows is a murder.

I always thought it was a herd of cattle... the cattle farmers we have next door never called their cattle a murder... you live and learn.
I do believe I typed in a murder of crows not cows.
Yes, cows are either a herd or a drove
