A new friend of mine by the name of Naomi Nandi Newton, wrote this for me.
The Smooth Spot.
I seek to be a smooth spot
in the bumpy road of life
a place of shaded contentment
in the glare of worldly strife
A brook, a stream, a river
where cool, clear waters flow
to water the garden of passion
to irrigate the soul
A candle, a light, a beacon
to light the darkest way
to banish fear, to banish doubt
to shelter them that stray
a hug, a touch, a warm embrace
to still a quivering heart
to bring a warm and nurturing peace
from which you would not part
I wish to bind, I wish to heal
all the wounds of strife
So I seek to be that smooth spot
in the bumpy road of life
