Henry P
02-06-2010, 12:49 AM
I like it
Maryd.
02-06-2010, 12:59 AM
I like it too. Maybe Rantingpete was right.
Henry P
02-06-2010, 01:12 AM
I think he may have been
Maryd.
02-06-2010, 01:16 AM
Your place or mine?
Hahahaha
Henry P
02-06-2010, 01:18 AM
Somewhere neutral, I think
Maryd.
02-06-2010, 01:41 AM
Italy... Like we said on another thread.
Henry P
02-06-2010, 01:45 AM
Overlooking the Maddalena islands off Sardinia
Maryd.
02-06-2010, 02:43 AM
Henry, stop it I'm drooling. We don't have pretty looking places like that here. Now you're just teasing me.
Henry P
02-06-2010, 11:57 AM
There must be pretty places in Oz
Maryd.
02-06-2010, 12:13 PM
There are some places, just not as pretty as Europe.
Henry P
03-06-2010, 12:07 AM
somewhere on the gold Coast or Barrier Reef?
Maryd.
03-06-2010, 12:10 AM
Yes, but those places are smothered in tourists. I'd like somewhere quiet and yet with the odd human passing by.
Henry P
03-06-2010, 12:20 AM
will you watch the football World Cup or not?
Maryd.
03-06-2010, 12:59 AM
I use too. Depends how tired I am, it is played here aroun 3'ish am.
Will you?
Henry P
03-06-2010, 01:00 AM
yes. I love a good footie game
Maryd.
03-06-2010, 01:16 AM
Meet up with a special friend: A kiss on the cheek or on the lips?
Henry P
03-06-2010, 12:21 PM
Depends on whether we're related. If not, on the lips
Maryd.
03-06-2010, 12:25 PM
Children: Loud and confident or quiet and submissive?
Henry P
03-06-2010, 12:27 PM
Somewhere in between would be best
Maryd.
03-06-2010, 12:41 PM
I have one of each... It drives me batty. I feel like a schizophrenic, when dealing with squabbles.
Henry P
03-06-2010, 12:44 PM
I have both kinds in one. Steph can be very confident but moody and childish as well
Maryd.
03-06-2010, 01:01 PM
Don't we just love our mixed up children.:)
Henry P
03-06-2010, 01:04 PM
We do
Maryd.
03-06-2010, 01:10 PM
Pets: Fish or birds
Henry P
03-06-2010, 01:13 PM
Birds. I used to have a yellow budgie
Maryd.
03-06-2010, 01:18 PM
We have a white, one at the moment.
Henry P
03-06-2010, 01:22 PM
I'd fancy having a talking parrot
Maryd.
03-06-2010, 01:25 PM
So do I... Well now this is so freaky.
Henry P
03-06-2010, 08:54 PM
They live a long time and are very clever and characterful
Maryd.
03-06-2010, 11:13 PM
Where I lived as a child, they had a parrot there, it talked and it had character, it was over 50 years old.
Henry P
03-06-2010, 11:16 PM
In the 70s someone in the next street to us used to put a parrot out in the garden in summer. It shrieked "Quiet, you b*stard!" across the back yards
Maryd.
04-06-2010, 12:16 AM
That's so funny. Want to hear a interesting story. My uncle's neighbour use to have a parrot and it would call out to their dog every morning until it came over the the cage and sniffed around. The dog lived to a ripe old age of 21. When the dog died the parrot didn't talk for a week. Then their 18 year old cat died and the parrot didn't talk for a week as well. Parrots mourn.
Henry P
04-06-2010, 12:19 AM
aw. I love some animals
Maryd.
04-06-2010, 12:32 AM
Yes, I think all birds mourn. We had two budgies, they would fight all the time. Even shed blood once or twice. The male was overactive and tease the female, chasing her around the cage. She would get so fed up and on and occasion, she would attack him. I often had to take him out and clean up his wounds. But 7 years later (last year) the male died. The famale didn't chirp once, in a almost 2 week. How weird is that?
Henry P
04-06-2010, 12:34 AM
elephants and dogs definitely mourn
Maryd.
04-06-2010, 01:00 AM
My cat mourned when my 17 year old Australian Terrier died. Actually she wouldn't come near us for two weeks, she would walk around us hissing and snarling, just to get to her dinner that we called her in for. On the day the dog died, it shed some blood in the kennel. Well I had bought the kennel only two weeks prior to his death to give him some quality of life before he died. So we decided to clean it out for the next dog that we were going to buy my son. (Which is Honey, my avatar) The cat sniffed the blood and hissed. She thought we had killed the dog. It took her a good two weeks get close to us again.
Henry P
04-06-2010, 01:02 AM
neuter pets or not?
Maryd.
04-06-2010, 01:21 AM
I prefer to neuter. We haven't neutered the Honey as we wanted to breed; her being a pure bred and all. But it just didn't happen and 3 years later it might pay to neauter.
Henry P
04-06-2010, 11:55 AM
Neutering for humans or not?
Maryd.
04-06-2010, 02:19 PM
Well, I haven't done it... But it seems to be the in thing...
Same?
Henry P
04-06-2010, 05:42 PM
Some people should be sterilised, like the 50 women in Britain who have had more than seven abortions and the fathers responsible
Maryd.
04-06-2010, 06:17 PM
Ewww. Yep, fix them up.
Henry P
04-06-2010, 07:32 PM
wash your own windows or pay a cleaner?
Maryd.
05-06-2010, 01:16 AM
No, I love washing windows. I find the job fun. Mind you I only live in a single story home. I would probably pay someone if I had a double story home.
Henry P
05-06-2010, 01:20 AM
we have upstairs windows but we can wash them from inside with this magnetic device which lets you wash boths sides at once
Maryd.
05-06-2010, 01:30 AM
Yes, I've seen those advertised.
Which do you prefer: A small home or a double story home?
Henry P
05-06-2010, 11:46 AM
at the moment, a double-storey house like my own, but I lived in small houses before and there was far less maintenance
Maryd.
05-06-2010, 01:56 PM
I love my small house. I don't have to spend forever cleaning it. I have better things to do with my life. Like write and of course talk to my special friend.
Henry P
05-06-2010, 02:06 PM
Don't buy a bigger house, my dear
Maryd.
05-06-2010, 02:10 PM
I won't... I need to talk to my special friend.:)
Henry P
05-06-2010, 02:58 PM
I'll be here even if you have to clean a mansion,my dear
Maryd.
06-06-2010, 04:35 AM
You are such a good friend to me. Mwah.
Restaurants: Some place cheap and plain or Some fancy place with expensive gormet meals?
Henry P
06-06-2010, 04:13 PM
Somewhere in between, but it's hard tom find good value with everything priced 4 times its market cost. special occasions only
Maryd.
06-06-2010, 04:37 PM
Yes. The last time I went to a fancy restaurant it was a magical experience. That was mid year last year. But I don't go anymore. I want that memory to last forever. Now I just go to a small cheap one.
Henry P
06-06-2010, 05:32 PM
We eat out rarely
Maryd.
06-06-2010, 11:02 PM
If you had a career in the entertainment business, would it be a singer or a dancer?
Henry P
07-06-2010, 12:37 PM
Singer/songwriter
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 03:39 AM
I'd love to hear you sing.
Henry P
08-06-2010, 11:46 AM
I can't go very high without getting a sore throat
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 12:13 PM
You should sing a song and put it on Youtube.
Henry P
08-06-2010, 12:17 PM
I'm not even that good
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 12:33 PM
Yes... Have you heard some of the losers on Youtube... Eww. You couldn't be worse than them.
Henry P
08-06-2010, 12:46 PM
Yes, but I wouldn't do it just to be mocked
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 01:00 PM
Ok, do it and send it to me... :) I won't mock you
Henry P
08-06-2010, 01:01 PM
I'll think about it, my dear
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 01:20 PM
Please do... Mwah.
Henry P
08-06-2010, 01:22 PM
word or number puzzles?
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 01:37 PM
Both... I do crossword puzzle competitions and Zudoku
Same?
Henry P
08-06-2010, 01:42 PM
I do crosswords, but number games bore me
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 01:52 PM
We have magazines here called 'Take 5 and That's Life!' They are crossword puzzle competitions. And I enter them every Wednesday.
Henry P
08-06-2010, 01:55 PM
Have you ever won?
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 02:10 PM
Little things, like phone cards and make up or perfume... Nothing fabulous.
Henry P
08-06-2010, 02:15 PM
I used to enter crossword competitions but gave up
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 02:25 PM
England is a lot bigger than Australia, so the odds are harder.
Henry P
08-06-2010, 02:26 PM
Probably
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 02:38 PM
I played lotto for tonight, because it is 20 million. I should check the ticket soon.
Henry P
08-06-2010, 02:41 PM
Good luck
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 02:49 PM
So, what shall I do if I win?
Henry P
08-06-2010, 02:51 PM
Book a flight to Leeds
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 03:08 PM
Be there with bells on... This way you will hear me coming.
Henry P
08-06-2010, 03:12 PM
How long are the flights to London? You'd need a connection to Leeds
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 03:28 PM
Roughly 23 hours to get to London. Don't know much about Leeds.
Henry P
08-06-2010, 03:33 PM
an hour plus waiting around to Leeds
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 03:46 PM
So looking at 1 day all in all.
Henry P
08-06-2010, 03:50 PM
Tiring, but nothing compared to the ocean journeys of the past
Maryd.
08-06-2010, 04:04 PM
Travel 24 hours to meet someone or save the day and live in suspense forever?
Henry P
08-06-2010, 08:24 PM
Travel 24 hours. Once you've done it, the return journey won't seem so bad
Maryd.
09-06-2010, 01:21 PM
Ok Henry, I am on my way, set the table and cook that famous duck, that only you know how. I'll bring the wine... (Ah, one can dream, can't one?)
Henry P
09-06-2010, 07:57 PM
I dream my life away, my dear
Maryd.
10-06-2010, 12:59 AM
And I'm dreaming too, angel.
Henry P
10-06-2010, 01:06 AM
It's good to escape reality for a while
Maryd.
10-06-2010, 01:30 AM
Yes, but I think I have been doing that for a lifetime... I should wake up any time soon.
Henry P
10-06-2010, 01:35 AM
People can't take too much reality. Some wise man said that
Maryd.
10-06-2010, 01:52 AM
Was he really wise, or was it some old geezer in a back ally somewhere?
Henry P
10-06-2010, 02:01 AM
TS Eliot may have walked up an alley in his time
Maryd.
10-06-2010, 02:17 AM
He was a dreamer too, ha? I don't read T.S. Elliot's work. Actually I don't read poetry. I used to in school, but not these days.
Henry P
10-06-2010, 02:57 AM
I prefer the old stuff
Maryd.
10-06-2010, 03:03 AM
I should get back into reading poetry, if I am going to produce some work, worth reading.
Henry P
10-06-2010, 03:08 AM
You can learn from it, but go where the feeling takes you
Maryd.
10-06-2010, 03:17 AM
Thanks Henry, you are very wise.
Henry P
10-06-2010, 10:56 AM
I know, my dear
Maryd.
10-06-2010, 11:12 AM
Read poetry or a romance novel?
Henry P
10-06-2010, 11:30 AM
Poetry. I don't think I've ever read a romantic novel
Maryd.
10-06-2010, 01:33 PM
I did once. It was called the promise.
Read poetry or read an autobigraphy?
Henry P
10-06-2010, 08:53 PM
Poetry, but I like biographies of historial figures, provided they're dead
Maryd.
10-06-2010, 11:02 PM
You crack me up... Hahaha
Take a friend to the airport to see them off or pop them in a taxi and wave?
Henry P
10-06-2010, 11:42 PM
I'd take them personally
Maryd.
11-06-2010, 12:38 AM
Good boy... I'll need my hand held before I leave to go on an Aeroplane.
Henry P
11-06-2010, 12:41 AM
Dirty Dancing or Ghost?
Maryd.
11-06-2010, 12:52 AM
Ghost by a mile... I know I love to dance, but Ghost was one exceptional movie. Plus Whoopi Goldberg was in it as well. I love her.
Henry P
11-06-2010, 12:54 AM
A great performer. Her comedy in Ghost made the sad story more bearable
Maryd.
11-06-2010, 01:03 AM
I watched the movie Jumping Jack Flash... Her character in that movie was like a mirror image of mine.
Henry P
11-06-2010, 01:07 AM
What? Are you black, Jewish and American?
Maryd.
11-06-2010, 01:24 AM
Neither, but that is the way I act. Or the way I really am at that matter.
Henry P
11-06-2010, 01:26 AM
I'll have to check it out
Maryd.
11-06-2010, 01:40 AM
When Henry?
Henry P
11-06-2010, 01:43 AM
Some of it will be on YouTube
Maryd.
11-06-2010, 02:21 AM
Not yet, but maybe.
Henry P
11-06-2010, 02:23 AM
Shakira or Lady Gaga?
Maryd.
11-06-2010, 02:38 AM
I like them both... Can't choose sorry.
Same?
Henry P
11-06-2010, 02:46 AM
I prefer Lady Gaga's songs but Shakira is gorgeous
Maryd.
11-06-2010, 02:51 AM
Yes... But don't tell anyone I agreed with you...
Henry P
11-06-2010, 11:26 AM
Easy to read or natural dark screen on this site?
Maryd.
11-06-2010, 04:42 PM
I use the easy to read.
what do you use?
Henry P
11-06-2010, 08:20 PM
same.
Maryd.
12-06-2010, 06:06 AM
Truth or dare?
Henry P
12-06-2010, 08:08 AM
never played it. What do you do?
Maryd.
12-06-2010, 02:08 PM
Never played it either, but if I did, I would do truth, I'm frightened of where the dare wold leave me.
Henry P
12-06-2010, 02:33 PM
Same here then
Maryd.
12-06-2010, 02:45 PM
Deary me Henry... Would you do anything I say/do?
Henry P
12-06-2010, 02:50 PM
Are you still talking about truth or dare, or in general?
Maryd.
12-06-2010, 03:10 PM
In general...
Henry P
12-06-2010, 03:13 PM
Just about everything.
Maryd.
12-06-2010, 03:49 PM
Yes... My darling... Everything.
Henry P
12-06-2010, 03:51 PM
Marry or live together?
Maryd.
12-06-2010, 04:12 PM
Well, I've done the marrying thing, so maybe live together will work out better.
Same?
Henry P
12-06-2010, 04:14 PM
I think so
Maryd.
12-06-2010, 04:40 PM
Did you know that in Australia, 6 months into a De facto relationship is the same as being married?
Henry P
12-06-2010, 08:19 PM
Not here, but long-term partners are given more rights in law
Maryd.
13-06-2010, 01:46 AM
It's really weird and is as though they were really married, they have the same issues as a married couple, from custody of children to who get's the house.
Henry P
13-06-2010, 10:16 AM
How do they prove when they moved in together?
Maryd.
13-06-2010, 12:14 PM
I guess, in their mail, or their postal address changes... I wouldn't have a clue, I have never done it. Have you?
Henry P
13-06-2010, 01:31 PM
Never. In the UK unmarried couples pretend to live together when they don't for financial benefit and extra rights
Maryd.
13-06-2010, 01:56 PM
No way... That is so clever.
Henry P
13-06-2010, 02:02 PM
Meanwhile they live with parents or whoever
Maryd.
13-06-2010, 02:09 PM
So typical... I would strangle my kids if they did that.
Henry P
13-06-2010, 02:10 PM
Mick Jagger or Paul McCartney?
Maryd.
13-06-2010, 03:27 PM
Tough one, but I love my Paulie... So Sir Paul McCartney.
Same?
Henry P
13-06-2010, 03:43 PM
same
Rod Stewart or Elton John?
Maryd.
13-06-2010, 04:38 PM
Oh, that's easy. Mr Rod Stewart.
Paul McCartney or John Lennon?
Henry P
13-06-2010, 06:02 PM
Lennon.
same?
Maryd.
13-06-2010, 08:17 PM
Yes, Lennon.
60's music or 70's music?
Henry P
13-06-2010, 08:25 PM
Before the Beatles, there was little good music, but the best of it better than the 70s
60s or 80s?
Maryd.
13-06-2010, 08:47 PM
Well I am an 80's fanatic but I loved the 60's as well. Don't know. Can't I have them both.
Same?
Henry P
13-06-2010, 08:48 PM
60s music was better, anyway
80s or 90s?
Maryd.
13-06-2010, 09:09 PM
Forget about music, the world stopped playing good music after the 80's. Nothing has appealed to me, since the 80's.
Henry P
13-06-2010, 09:10 PM
I disagree. I love Radiohead. Check them out on Spotify
Maryd.
13-06-2010, 09:24 PM
What's spotify?
Henry P
13-06-2010, 09:35 PM
A website where you can listen to nearly any song, but not download it
Maryd.
13-06-2010, 09:52 PM
Ooh I'll check that out.
Henry P
13-06-2010, 09:54 PM
Oz to lose by 3 or 4 goals?
Maryd.
13-06-2010, 10:29 PM
:( Lost by 4
Henry P
13-06-2010, 10:32 PM
WE should have made an in-play bet
Maryd.
13-06-2010, 10:35 PM
No darling... I would have lost. Hmmm, what would we have bet and how would we pay up, I mean we are from opposite sides of the world?
Henry P
13-06-2010, 10:36 PM
I meant from a betting website
Maryd.
13-06-2010, 10:47 PM
Well between you and I Henry, I don't gamble... Because I am not lucky enough to win, so I don't take the risk.
Henry P
14-06-2010, 09:16 AM
neither do I
Maryd.
14-06-2010, 10:53 AM
At parties: Help out with the cleaning up or let some other fool do all the work?
Henry P
14-06-2010, 01:57 PM
I clean up after parties at my house, but not at some other fool's, I'm afraid
Maryd.
14-06-2010, 03:30 PM
"You'll always find me in the kitchen at parties" Yeah.
Henry P
15-06-2010, 01:21 AM
Take food or booze to parties?
Maryd.
15-06-2010, 01:22 AM
I've mostly taken food. I only ever take booze when I run out of time to cook something.
Henry P
15-06-2010, 01:34 AM
we mostly take booze
Maryd.
15-06-2010, 01:39 AM
Yes Henry but I am Italian... If I don't walk in with a meal, it would be detrimental to my well being... Those mamma's would come down on my like a tonne of bricks.
Henry P
15-06-2010, 01:48 AM
the polish seem to expect everything to be laid on when they are invited, and always put on a big spread to show their prosperity
Maryd.
15-06-2010, 02:46 AM
Same with the Italians, but every one has to have an imput... To see who's dish is better.
Henry P
15-06-2010, 08:31 AM
The Polish don't take anything to parties, though
Maryd.
15-06-2010, 09:36 AM
Lucky you...
Henry P
15-06-2010, 02:33 PM
They expect it all to be laid on and bitch about the hospitality afterwards if it's not up to expectations (or worse than their own)
Maryd.
15-06-2010, 06:47 PM
So critical... Sad, they should just eat, drink and be merry.
Henry P
15-06-2010, 07:31 PM
men's or ladies' perfumes?
Maryd.
15-06-2010, 11:37 PM
Ladies' by far.
Gifts: Jewelery or cash?
Haunted
16-06-2010, 12:06 AM
Jewelery
earrings or rings
Henry P
16-06-2010, 08:04 AM
I only wear one ring and never had my ear pierced.
Maryd.
16-06-2010, 09:11 AM
I wear one ring because I have too, not because I want too.
I hate jewelery. Such a waist of money. I'd rather save the cash and go on a holiday somewhere.
Henry P

Henry P
18-06-2010, 10:36 PM
Watch the others. same?
Maryd.
18-06-2010, 10:42 PM
Ordinarily I watch the others. But last night, I played the pokies and one $104.00. Yay.
Henry P
18-06-2010, 10:44 PM
Played the pokies? Explain please
Maryd.
18-06-2010, 11:53 PM
Yes, the kids went to a sleep over and we took off for dinner at a pub. They had pokie machines there, so we had a play. Hubby lost his money and took off for a drink, one of our neighbour's just happened to be there, so he spent the rest of the eve with him... I spent it on the pokies. Winning for the first time.
Henry P
18-06-2010, 11:55 PM
You mean poker? Don't get hooked , my dear
Maryd.
19-06-2010, 12:15 AM
No, not poker, just those machines you put coins in... No, I don't really like them... I was just ored at this pub...
Henry P
19-06-2010, 08:19 AM
Don't make a habit of it, my dear. These things have a way of winning in the end
Maryd.

Maryd.
19-06-2010, 02:13 PM
Washing is good.
Henry P
19-06-2010, 02:14 PM
I like doing washing, provided someone hasn't left a tissue in a pocket
Maryd.
19-06-2010, 02:35 PM
Oh, don't you hate that... You have to shake out every item and then if that doesn't work, you have to wash the load again... And I find I need to clean out the washing machine as well. Such a bother.
Henry P
19-06-2010, 02:38 PM

Maryd.

True that. I always preferred a computer until I got my laptop, now I can't go back to a computer. I love my laptop.
Henry P
20-06-2010, 04:15 PM

20-06-2010, 04:31 PM
Typing or handwriting?
Maryd.
20-06-2010, 04:34 PM
Handwriting, can never be accidentally deleted. So I will go with handwriting... But on the other hand typing is much more neater. I usually do both when writing poems. I hand write it first, then I type it out. This way I never lose it.
Henry P
20-06-2010, 04:36 PM
I do the same, but my handwriting is scruffy
Maryd.
20-06-2010, 04:38 PM

Maryd.
20-06-2010, 04:54 PM

Henry P
20-06-2010, 04:56 PM
