It's hard to explain, but if there aren't as many votes for the 2 main candidates, the votes swing towards one of them... I should do my homework on this, because I don't know how the swing works... Maybe it goes to the one already in office. I am not quite sure. So even if you vote for some out of the way-nobody, it swings, to one of the other 2 main candidates.
