firstly my name is Neil Renwick, im 40 years old and i live in the UK, i work as a long distance truck driver, i have written poems for many years , but its only the last few years that i have kept the poemsand through other sites, friends and family gained the confidence to display my poems,
Influences over my Poetry
The main driving force over my poetry is my feelings and personal circumstances, I have always made no bones over that, my poetry is deeply personal and near always reflects my thoughts or my life in some way, some times cryptically other times more directly,
The break up of my second marriage and the surrounding turmoil and the separation from my children had huge impact on both me and my work.
The main thing about poetry for me is it has to rhyme no matter what the subject is, yet each to there own on that one.
Final thoughts on Poetry
Poetry can make you smile, laugh or cry, it can give you wisdom, it can change your mood for better or for worse, it can touch you in places you never knew you could be touched by words, it can express the deepest feeling of joy and sorrow, it can show people that they are not alone, above all it can change lives, poetry changed mine
